My So-Called Movie

my so-called movie Well, it's finally happening. After 21 months of twiddling my thumbs (AKA editing, buying a house, getting married, starting a new job, and moving twice), the world is finally about to see the Teen Movie Project. Maybe most surprisingly, it actually has a name now: My So-Called Movie. Not the most inspired choice, but it made me laugh, and well, isn't that sort of what this whole thing is about? So mark your calendars: August 19, 2013. 7pm at Shattuck Cinemas. This thing is happening....as soon as I finish editing it.

Free Parties for Theater Nerds

Want to see a play, have a few drinks, and dance with cute strangers? Of course you do! Which is why you should check out the parties I'm throwing at Berkeley Rep this week:

  • On Wednesday (December 1), there's night/OUT, a free party for the LGBT community. Grab a ticket to Lemony Snicket's The Composer is Dead that night (psst: use the code NIGHT online to get 20% off, or 50% if you're under 30), then stick around and enjoy the party! We'll have beer, wine, tequila, and plenty of sweet and savory snacks from local sponsors--and it's all free! DJ Pauline will be spinning records (or, you know, queuing up MP3s) and you're basically guaranteed a good time.
    .
  • On Friday (December 3), come back for 30-Below, a free party for the under-30 crowd. Get a ticket (use the code WEB30 and it's half-price), see the show, and stick around for drinks, dancing, food, and more. Under 30 and a member of the LGBT community? Come to both! (Ok, probably not. But I'd totally give you a medal for being hardcore if you did.)

If that wasn't incentive enough, you'll almost certainly run into me there. I'll be the one making my panic face.

I Live Here:SF at SOMArts tonight!

On the off-chance that today's the day you've chosen to Internet-stalk me and you're bored in SOMA tonight, have I got an event for you!

About a year and a half ago, I participated in I Live Here: SF, which is a lovely, ongoing project by San Francisco photographer Julie Michelle. Tonight is the opening of her gallery exhibition of said project at SOMArts (just a few bocks from my house). Come check it out!

It's free, it's from 6-9PM tonight (Friday, November 5), it's at SOMArts on Brannan, I'll be there, and most excitingly, I'll get to stand in front of my own photo in a gallery like Alice in "Closer."

Hope to see you there!
